Blogs that are threatening to close: Higher Education Insider

I don't know if they will go through with it, but Dahn Shaulis' Higher Education Insider is threatening to close on January 6th over a 2024 lawsuit from Christopher "Chip" Paucek over things written by Paucek's former firm 2U and his new firm Pro Athlete Community, which are both involved with elements of the higher education system. To my mind all of this is bad; Paucek seems to be trying to run a SLAPP suit against Higher Education Insider, which has been forced to start an Anti-SLAPP lawsuit against Paucek. The site is just a simple Blogger.com website, and yet Shaulis and his (former?) coworker Glen McGhee are on the hook for basic journalism. The whole thing drives me insane, but then this is the same country that re-elected a guy who started a riot in the Capitol building and grounds to stay in office illegally.

  1. I looked up Dahn Shaulis + Higher Education Insider, and got 0 hits from google. Then I punched in Dahn Shaulis and got Higher Education Inquirer. Did he change his blog's name, due to the problem you cited, or did you mistype his name?

    1. The name has changed, but he shut it down anyway, it's a dead site.
